  • Ned Horowitz , BVMS, MRCVS, BSc

    Dr. Ned Horowitz has been in practice since 1987 and the owner of Massapequa Pet Vet since 1996.  He is a graduate of Glasgow University Veterinary School, with a BVMS degree and is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.  Dr. Horowitz works with dogs, cats and all exotic species of pets and has special interests in surgery, exotics and dentistry. As the medical director of Pet Vet and through years of education and training, he has dedicated himself to veterinary care, surgery and continued education.

  • Hillary Schilke, DVM

    Dr. Schilke joined us at Pet Vet the summer of 2010.  She attended veterinary school at St. George’s University and completed her fourth year of clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota.  During veterinary school, Dr. Schilke realized that she has a strong interest in ophthalmology and surgery.  She has written articles for the Veterinary Ophthalmology journal and has worked with multiple Ophthalmologists across the US. Dr. Schilke completed a post graduate internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists and has been practicing on Long Island since then.  She shares her life with 3 dogs, one cat and a silly rabbit.

  • Marissa Strianese, DVM

    Dr. Marissa Strianese joined Pet Vet since April, 2012, and is happy to offer our clients new and innovated medicine.  She is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Virginia Tech of Veterinary Medicine.   Dr. Strianese has special interest in internal medicine.   Dr. Strianese is a native of Massapequa and has come back to her roots to serve our community.  She enjoys her extra time playing with Olive, her Chihuahua and her cat Rigatoni.

  • Shavaughn Snipas, VMD

    Dr. Shavaughn Snipas joined Pet Vet in 2014 as a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  She was born and raised on Long Island, and attended Fordham University for her Bachelor of Science degree.  Dr. Snipas has a special interest in internal medicine and surgery.  Her leisure time is spent baking, drawing, playing sports, and spending time with her family and friends.  She shares her home with her husband and dog, Buster.

    Dr. Oscar Alas joined Pet Vet in 2017 and is a graduate of   St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine with  his clinical year training at Cornell University Veterinary School.   Dr. Alas has special interests in surgery and radiology.    Dr. Alas is a Long Island native and enjoys fishing in his spare time.

  • Donna, Office Manager

    Donna has been with Pet Vet for over ten years and is happy to help out the clients and staff with any problems or concerns.  Donna runs our Non-Profit 501(c)(3) wildlife and rescue company (Long Island Wildlife and Animal Rescue) and is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.  She is very involved with all the local rescue groups helping to find forever homes for all of the four-legged friends that are in need.  She is especially knowledgeable on the indigenous bird species here on Long Island helping in the safe release of rehabilitated birds.  Her love of all things feathered and furry make her a perfect fit for Pet Vet.

  • Mandy Clark, Groomer

    Mandy comes to us with many years of experience in all breed hair cuts. Mandy also has a flair for the extra pampered pooch . She loves to add feather extensions & will even temporarily color your pooch or just add a touch of color -Making your pet look like a Prince or Princess. She is really great with the reluctant pet that does not cooperate. She is also available for routine bathing.
